You can notice some signs of having washing powder allergy. The most evident is a red, itchy rash, normally occurring almost immediately after contact with a freshly washed product. You will find that this rash disappears very quickly when the irritant is removed or the affected piece of clothing ceases wearing it. Sensitivity to powdery ingredients can also contribute to allergic contact dermatitis, which again appears to be red, but generally does not occur after immediate contact.

It normally develops after 12 to 72 hours of irritant exposure. The immune system also takes a while to identify allergens so that you might have been exposed to a substance multiple times before your reaction occurs. In contrast, you can also have a reaction after just one exposure to the irritant.
